Mirren in The Satin Studio Jacket and The Brea Bag
Welcome to The Wish List, in which people we admire share the things they’re indulging in right now; a selection of gifts for themselves, or others — no occasion required.
The Los Angeles-based costume designer Mirren Gordon-Crozier can transform any outfit into a scene-stealing look (see Brie Larsen’s fashionable lab coats in the new Apple TV+ series “Lessons in Chemistry.”) Her costumes reflect a keen eye for detail and storytelling, and have been recognized by the Sundance, Toronto and Tribeca Film Festivals.
Below, Gordon-Crozier shares a few of her favorite finds for the home and wardrobe, from Belgian loafers to surrealist antique lamps.
A Collectible Truffle Tin
"I love this beautiful truffle tin from Louis Sherry, the famed French-style chocolatier who first set up shop in New York in 1881. This one is from an artist collaboration with Gracie Studio, which makes hand-painted wallpaper. The chocolates are delectable and the tin is perfect for storing jewelry, buttons or coins." Louis Sherry Artist Series: 12-Piece Tins, $40
Timeless Loafers
"Belgian loafers are a classic New York shoe. Handmade and so comfortable, they will never go out of style. I love this pink suede pair with grey leather trim." Midinette Loafers, $625
Surrealist Table Lamps
"The Paris-based design duo Garouste and Bonetti are beloved for their avant-garde furniture from the '80s and '90s. These Belgravia table lamps are a decidedly witty take on a simple object." Pair of Garouste & Bonetti Table Lamps, $13,894
A Decorative Dish
"I collect anything shell-themed. This traditional silver-plated Sheffield clam dish is particularly lovely." Sheffield Decorative Dish, $200
A Fantastical Print by Tim Walker
"The British fashion photographer Tim Walker knows how to tell a story with just one click. His version of the classic fairytale 'The Princess and The Pea' is at once whimsical and grounded." Tim Walker Print, price upon request
A Must-Have Art Book
"Sofia Coppola is one of my favorite filmmakers with the most perfect eye. Her first book features never-before-seen photographs and ephemera from behind the scenes of all eight of her films, as well as her collages and annotated scripts. I can't wait to get my hands on it." 'Archive' by Sofia Coppola, $65
A Heavenly Scent
"I'm a bit of a candle aficionado. After years of searching for the best ambient fragrance, this fig-scented candle from A.P.C turned out to be my favorite." Scented Candle, $65
