Description:

The Design & Development Assistant will work directly with Design and Product Development teams to support all aspects in the product lifecycle. The apprentice will walk away with a strong understanding of Design and Studio operations and gain valuable insight into collection execution and design operations. 

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Day to Day

• Assist in the design and development process from concept through final sample 
• Creating and maintaining CAD sketches
• Creation of seasonal line sheets and design boards
• Support prototype development, including sample mockups, swatching, and product refinements
• Support seasonal research for mood boards, concept presentations and other inspiration materials
• Maintenance and organization of Attersee trim and fabric archive 
• Additional administrative support, where needed 

Qualifications

• BFA/BA degree in Fashion Design
• Prior design internship experience preferred
• Familiarity with the garment district 
• Strong proficiency in Adobe Suite, including Illustrator and InDesign
• Strong communication skills
• Understanding of garment construction and pattern making 
• Excellent organizational skills with high attention to detail and follow through
• Ability to commit to 3-4 days a week part-time schedule
